In order to build a free international data distribution zone, we launched a research and study team in August 2023 to investigate the state of response to digital transformation.

Furthermore, in April 2024, the Institute for Digital Society was established to address the growing need for international rule formation in response to the development of digital trade.
The institute has established study groups for each theme to discuss issues and ideal forms for the realization of a digital society, and how Japan should deepen its optimal relationship with the international community. The institute also conducted surveys and research on a wide range of related issues from various perspectives, as well as disseminated information both domestically and internationally.
