The report of the second phase of the Study Group for New Trade Rule Strategies is now available.

　In the second phase (March-November 2025), we examined the major challenges to the free trade regime in the areas of national security, environment, labor, human rights, digital, etc., and how the WTO and FTA/EPA regimes should respond to these challenges under these circumstances. Based on an analysis of the current situation in the areas of security, environment, labor, etc., this report examines the major challenges to the free trade regime and how the WTO and FTA/EPA regimes should respond to these challenges under these circumstances, and attempts to provide a vision for the future of the WTO and FTA/EPA regimes.
