Responding to Digital Transformation
Finished
Data, also known as "the oil of the 21st century," has become a source of growth and competitiveness in the digital age, and it is essential for companies to secure an environment in which this data can be freely distributed in order to develop global business.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Foundation has contributed to the formation of international rules such as the WTO in order to establish a free international data distribution zone, and has also conducted projects to improve the business environment to support the global business development of Japanese companies, including outreach to Asian countries where digital protectionism is a concern. We have also implemented projects to improve the business environment to support the global business development of Japanese companies.
A task force was established and a report was compiled from the three perspectives of "utilization of cross-border data distribution," "personal information protection," and "government access" as important basic elements of a Japanese-style architecture for digital transformation after a pandemic.
