Developing Human Resources for International Business Toward a Trading Nation

1967:

Trade Training Center established as a public-private partnership under the Trade Training Center Act.

1969:

Training Institute (Fujinomiya Campus) opened in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and training operations begun.

1986:

With the repeal of the "Trade Training Center Act," the Trade Training Center is reorganized as an incorporated foundation.

1992:

Fujinomiya Campus closed

19832013:

Promoting Understanding with Japan Against a Backdrop of Intensifying Trade Friction

1981:

Voluntary automobile regulations against the U.S. begin.

1983:

Launched a training program for European and U.S. businessmen.

1986:

Declaration at the EC-Japan Ministerial Meeting on deepening industrial cooperation between the EU and Japan in order to correct trade and investment imbalances and to promote closer economic ties.

1987:

The "EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation" is established as a branch of the Foundation.

1990:

Launched the Leadership Program business.

20012018:

Supporting the development of Asia as a global growth center

2001

In response to China's accession to the WTO, the Japan-China Economic Discussion Group was launched at the Foundation to present various proposals from the perspective of strengthening economic partnerships between Japan and China.

2006:

Launch and information dissemination of Asia-related projects with a focus on Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam
