Capacity Building Program for Overseas Medical Professionals (FY 2011)
Outline
IIST implemented new training and short-term training programs, inviting a total of eleven medical professionals from four countries (six from Indonesia, two each from Thailand and Vietnam, and one from Czech Republic). IIST also dispatched research and follow-up missions to Indonesia.

Research mission
IIST dispatched doctors, one each on two occasions, from Toranomon Hospital to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital attached to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Indonesia in Jakarta.
On the first occasion, from November 28 to December 3, 2011, the visiting doctor gave lectures and surgery guidance on neuroendovascular therapy to doctors of that hospital's neurosurgery department, including former trainees. On the second occasion, from December 5 to 10, 2011, the visiting doctor gave lectures on the diagnosis and treatment of skin tumors, large moles, and other illnesses, as well as practical demonstrations and guidance on dermatological surgery, to more than 100 local dermatologists, including former trainees.
