With the aim of supporting the development of Hokkaido’s regional economy, in which food-related industries are a core element, IIST organized a seminar in Sapporo to promote the opening and expansion of demand in China.

1.“Points to Note Regarding Food Product Exports to China”
Ms. Yu Xiao Ping
Director, Department of Commercial Consultancy, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Dalian Branch Office
Ms. Yu gave a concise explanation of the points that Hokkaido companies should bear in mind when exporting food products to China, including China’s safety administration relating to imported food products, planning and promotion for the selection of sales companies and the market in general, and the securing of profits by cost reduction.

2.“Strategies for Opening the Chinese Market to Hokkaido Food Products”
Mr. Masashi Kitajima
Chairperson, Dalian Hokkaidojin Kai
(President, Toyo World Information Consultant Co.)
Based on his experience of living for nine years in Dalian, Mr. Kitajima provided information relating to food and food products, talked about the characteristics of Chinese society’s culture and customs, and explained strategies for opening the Chinese market to Hokkaido’s food products in the light of these factors.

3.“The Present State of Imported Food Product Sales in China”
