Overview

Chairman Demberel and the representative to Japan, Ms. Ulziinyam, an energetic advocate for economic exchange between Japan and Mongolia, appreciated that the visit to Japan by the Chairman after an interval of three years was very timely and opportune.
They also commented that Mongolia and Japan are poised for a major turning point in economic relations. In addition, Chairman Demberel was extremely pleased that at the discussion held with the Japan-Mongolia Economic Committee he was able to speak enthusiastically without reserve to the representatives of member companies about future economic exchange.
Mongolia is located between the two large countries of China and Russia.and so has an extremely crucial geopolitical position. Although its population is just a little over 2.63 million, its land is 4 times the size of Japan. Presently, its population is young, with 70% of its citizens aged 35 or younger. It holds great potential as a resource-rich country and its presence as a global society is growing.
One of Mongolia’s greatest export industries, cashmere, is regarded by Japan to be of great importance. This program reaffirmed that deepening mutual understanding is crucial to promoting further economic cooperation with Mongolia, a country ripe with untapped potential.
As exchange between Japan and Mongolia grows stronger, IIST is hopeful that this program will help to achieve even more dynamic economic activities.
