Outline

An industrial cluster of bio-life science related industries was formed in the Kansai area, and industry, academia, and government are cooperating for its development. There are, however, many issues involved in the further development of bio clusters in Japan and linking their efforts internationally.
IIST invited two lecturers from Cambridge, UK, where an accumulation of outstanding research institutions as well as life science-related technology companies exist and a cutting edge bio cluster in Eurupe has been formed. With these experts, IIST held a seminar about international cooperation between bio clusters.
