(Kanto region) Mission Dispatch Program: Shanghai Business Matching - Exploring business opportunity and expanding the sales channel of the Tama brand (China) (FY2007)
Supported by the Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Tama Industrial Vitalization Association has been encouraging a new mutually complementary system among small- and medium-sized companies and with research institutes such as universities in the Tama area (south-western part of Saitama Prefecture, Tokyo Tama area and central Kanagawa Prefecture) and improving the environment to stimulate innovation.
Some member companies of the Tama Association whose market has already matured in Japan started to sell their products to companies in China , and are expanding their shares thanks to high quality and reliability. The mission was, therefore, sent to Shanghai to visit local companies with the coordination of successful companies there, in the hope to expand sales channels and promote a cooperative system with Chinese companies and research institutes.

The prior seminars informed the members about the current status of the Chinese economy and business conditions as prerequisites to doing business in China, especially in the east China region including Shanghai.
During the mission, the participants received an explanation of the Labor Contract Laws (to be enforced from 2008) by a local lawyer. They also visited companies and institutions with which they are expecting to do business in the future, and were able to talk about the feasibility of technical exchanges.
It is expected that the valuable information was accumilated for companies considering doing business in Shanghai to discuss feasibility and examine detailed plans.
