Research and Study on Asian Issues "Research Report on the Formulation of Industry Specific Strategies in Indonesia" (2006)
The petrochemical working group was one of the main activities in the fiscal 2006 of Industrial Competitiveness SME WG, a public-private joint investment forum organized in Indonesia. This report compiled the summary of the discussions made there. Also, for the purpose of preparing policy recommendations, analysis of petrochemical data based upon the database held by DIA RESEARCH MARTECH INC. on Indonesia were used together with a series of interviews with public organizations as well as trading, petrochemical, engineering and other companies in Japan was conducted. Interviews with oil and petrochemical organizations and companies in Indonesia were also conducted to gain an understanding of recent local circumstances were also implemented.
The report covers an analysis on the current conditions of the Indonesian petrochemical industry, and changes in supply and demand of petrochemical products in Asian and other countries surrounding Indonesia, as well as the position, investment environment, cost competitiveness and SWOT of the Indonesian petrochemical industry. With the aforementioned research and study, possible policies for the petrochemical industry of the Indonesian government were proposed.
