(Hokkaido Region) Mission Dispatch to Russian Far East (FY2006)

Overview

The mission first paid a courtesy call to the Consulate General of Japan in Khabarovsk, followed by visits to several important places, such as the Khabarovsk City Hall and the Japan Center in Khabarovsk. Visits to Russian companies, including the consignment warehouse, the Baltika Breweries’ plant, and Newada, provided the mission with opportunities to deepen their understanding of the business environment through directly observing the current situation of Russian companies and conducting market research.

IIST also organized a presentation by the companies from Hokkaido, individual business meetings, and a tasting event to explore and expand business opportunities in the region.

Hokkaido and Hokkaido products were effectively promoted and all the time slots for business meetings were fully booked. This success implies a strong need for these products. The food tasting event effectively showcased the high quality of Hokkaido’s products. As for automobile-related business, some mission members lost no time in visiting local companies to discuss specific issues.
