Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Manila Seminar

Outline

An expert workshop was held in Thailand in 2000 under the APEC Alternative Dispute Resolution Executive Education Project planned by the APEC Human Resources Development Working Group (HRD-WG). At the meeting, experts formulated plans and training programs for the project. Subsequently, teaching materials and training programs for managers were developed through a collaborative effort among experts on ADR and experts on executive education from the APEC region.
IIST led the project from the planning stage, built a network of experts on ADR and executive education, and facilitated the implementation of the project.

Overview

Conflict cannot be avoided in interregional trade because cultures and legal systems differ by region. Participants were able to deepen their understanding of solving conflicts by means other than lawsuits. At the same time, the seminar provided ADR experts with a meaningful opportunity to experience various educational methods and approaches.
